Financial information, transparency and governance is all about how the council runs; showing you what it spends its money on, how you can keep tabs on this spending, and the rules that the council has to follow when spending your money. In this section, you will find the accounts and governance information sorted by year. Look here for budgets, financial information and audit reports. The council appoints its own auditor who carries out a thorough cleck of process and procedure, and is also subject to a government appointed auditor who does a cursory check on the council's finances and charges you £1,000 for the privilege.
